History

The Company was founded in 1999 by six immunologists, including Hervé Brailly, the current Chairman of the Executive Board, and François Romagné, a member of the Executive Board and Chief Scientific Officer. The other founding members are French and Italian scientists who have made significant contributions in the area of unconventional lymphocyte biology, the science at the basis of the first two drug candidates of the Company.

These founders have brought the original intellectual propriety basis of Innate Pharma, thought licensing, research and collaboration agreements with academic institutions, most notably Inserm and the University of Genoa in Italy.

All along its history, the Company has strengthens its intellectual propriety, built an internal expertise by recruiting highly qualified collaborators and developed a rich and diverse portfolio of drug-candidates. The Company has grown though financing from venture capital, industrial partnership and its IPO in 2006.

The key date of Innate Pharma’s history are summarized below:

1999:

Company inception.

2000:

First financing round (4.5 million euros), led by Sofinnova Partners.

2001:

First drug-candidate on Tγδ platform.

2002:

First clinical trial. Second financing round (20 million euros), led by Alta Partners.

2003:

First collaboration and licensing deal with the Danish biopharmaceutical group Novo Nordisk A/S for the development of an immuno-modulator targeting a NK cell receptor (IPH 2101).

2004:

Third financing round (15 million euros), led by Novo Nordisk A/S.

2005:

Beginning of a third product platform, targeting Toll-like receptors (TLRs).

2006:

Second collaboration and licensing agreement with Novo Nordisk A/S comprising all of the drug candidates in the NK platform and including a reserved capital increase (10 million euros).

Initiation of the first Phase II clinical trial (IPH 1101).

Acquisition of assets from the US pharmaceutical group Schering-Plough Corporation in the TLR field.

Initial public offering (“IPO”) on the NYSE-Euronext market in Paris (33.7 million euros raised).

2007:

Initiation by Novo Nordisk A/S of two Phase I clinical trials (IPH 2101).

In-licensing of Toll-like 7 receptor agonist compounds from Cancer Research Technology Limited (IPH 3201)

2008:

Acquisition of rights to IPH 2101 from Novo Nordisk A/S through an asset transfer agreement.

Publication of the first Phase II clinical trial with IPH 1101 in metastatic renal cell carcinoma

Inception of Innate Pharma Inc., subsidiary if Innate Pharma located in the USA.

2009:

Positive results for the Phase II clinical trial with IPH 1101 in Type C Viral Hepatitis

Initiation of the Phase II program with IPH 2101

Operational start of the joint immunomonitoring platform Platine with Transgene, ImmunID, Inserm and the cancer hospital Centre Léon-Bérard

Capital increase of 24.3 million euros reserved to categories of investors
