Overall Objectives and Purpose of the role
In the Finance & Corporate Department, reporting to the Senior Director, Accounting & Finance, you will be responsible in managing the accounting activities of the French subsidiaries of the Group to ensure compliance with accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits.
Within the Financial & Control team, your main roles and responsibilities are the following:
  • To ensure the closings of the French entities of the Group are performed on a timely basis;
  • To manage the accounting team in the day to day operations (3 persons) and plan and organize the growth of the team;
  • To manage the global treasury of the Company (> €200m) according to the cash strategy agreed between Management and the Audit Committee;
  • To be a key contact of the auditors for the accounting topics;
  • To be the key point of reference for the Financial & Control team for the IT topics.
This role also requires a friendly, energetic person with high integrity who can represent the accounting department with professionalism - interacting with peers, colleagues, industry leaders, and corporate executives.


Main responsibilities and key tasks
Managing the accounting activities for the French subsidiaries

Key Tasks:
  • Manage the Accounting team with the development of accounting policies, procedures and methodologies, (including supervision/organization of the tasks, motivation, and development of technical and soft skills).
  • Organize and supervise timely monthly closings under FR GAAP of the French subsidiaries, including interaction with the Financial Control team.
  • Manage the writing of the financial statements of the French entities under French GAAP, including the process review with the auditors.
  • Update the accounting procedures in line with corporate policies and external audits.
  • Interact with the chartered-accountant during the quarterly closings.
  • Interact with the internal contacts regarding the accounting topics.
Managing the cash strategy of the Company

Key Tasks:
  • Analyze the cash consumption of the Group on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor the allocation of the global treasury between EUR and USD, short and long term investments.
  • Propose investments according to the cash strategy of the Company.
  • Interact with the banks for the investments and the IT issues.
Interacting with the auditors

Key Tasks:
  • Collaborative relationship with the legal auditors during their audit of statutory financial statements.
  • Preparation of audit schedules and interfacing during the financial audit process.
  • Lead of the discussions regarding the accounting treatment under French GAAP of the non-recurring operations.
Acting as the key contact for the IT topics

Key Tasks:
  • Act as the administrator for the Finance modules of the ERP.
  • Interact with the IT team and the banks for the management of the payment software.
Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 10+ years of experience in accounting, partly in an international or group environment.
  • Bac 5+ Business School or equivalent; (Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Finance or Accounting. The equivalent of the same in practical experience is also acceptable.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or within FMCG industry is an advantage.
