Overall Objectives
and Purpose of the role 
The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, will be responsible for leading a variety of communications activities in support of the Global Communications function.  This position will report into the Head of Global Communications. 
We are looking for a passionate communications professional who is excited about the opportunity to work for a growing oncology biotech company.  As a critical team member of the Corporate Communications function, the successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and differentiating Innate externally, helping to increase awareness of the Company's pipeline and scientific innovations; supporting its commercial ambitions, while raising its corporate visibility across a wide range of key audiences, including employees, potential employees, media, scientific community, healthcare providers, local communities and patients.  
The ideal candidate has experience developing strategic communications plans and executing communications effectively, both externally and internally.  He/she is creative and eager to bring new ideas into the organization, particularly in the social and digital media space.  This person also has strong organizational and time management skills to support numerous projects, deliver against tight deadlines, has a strong attention to detail and can successfully collaborate with multiple functions, both in the US and in Marseille, France. This person should demonstrate strong communications skills, both written and verbal, as well as proven media relations capabilities.  He/she should have a strong interest in working in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, and experience in understanding and interpreting complex content for multiple communications channels and audiences. 

Specifically, this candidate will be responsible for:
Corporate Communications:
  • Building corporate recognition and awareness through external communications activities to enhance the Company's profile and reputation
  • Managing the Company's social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn) and Company Web site, which will include developing timely content to ensure we have active and engaging corporate channels
  • Helping to manage the Company's global news flow, including proactive/reactive media relations; drafting and editing press releases and other media-related materials (Q&As, reactive statements, etc.), with the goal of creating a steady stream of media coverage for the Company
  • Creating awareness of Innate via the local biotech ecosystem in Maryland/DC/Virginia region
  • Monitor external coverage of Innate and its molecules in trade and business media across all platforms
  • Developing success metrics and sharing key results with respective leaders and partners in the organization  
Brand Communications: 
  • Leading the US brand communications efforts for LumoxitiTM


Main responsibilities and key tasks
Social and digital media lead

Key Tasks:
  • Develop a social and digital media strategy, in partnership with VP, Global Head of Communications.
  • Partner with appropriate functions and employees to generate compelling content for social media channels, in line with Corporate objectives (Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Lead Web site refresh project
Proactively manage company news flow (30%)

Key Tasks:
  • Assist in developing corporate narrative and supporting materials
  • Draft and edit press releases and other media-related materials (Q&As, reactive statements, etc.)
  • Conduct media relations activities in support of corporate news flow; also manage internal communications needs, as appropriate 
  • Maintain corporate communications calendar to effectively track news flow
  • Monitor external media coverage across all platforms/channels
Lead US Lumoxiti Brand Communications efforts (30%)

Key Tasks:
  • Develop brand communications plan, in partnership with US brand team; primary focus will be around digital/social media efforts
  • Lead the communications strategy for key oncology conferences related to the brand
  • Lead internal brand communications activities as appropriate, including field sales communications
  • Provide strategic communications support for senior leadership as needed, such as developing talking points/key presentations
  • Support issues management at the brand level, with focus on ensuring alignment and readiness on key issues identified through periodic risk analysis.
Develop strong corporate news bureau

Key Tasks:
  • Identify proactive stories for use in external and internal channels (i.e. story mining)
  • Create awareness of Innate via the local biotech ecosystem in Maryland/DC/Virginia region

Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (general business, public relations, and/or communications disciplines are preferred).
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive leadership in a biotech and/or pharmaceuticals company or at a communications/PR agency, handling activities such as:  corporate communications, social media, clinical data communications, pre-approval and product launch communications, issues management, media relations, and collaboration with advocacy/professional alliance programs.
  • Working with a global organization
  • Skilled in communicating complex scientific information to a variety of audiences.
